I am a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) through Gainer Peirce, who was my 5th great grandfather. According to Militia Records of the Comptroller General, Gainer served in the Pennsylvania Militia, Lancaster County, 8th Battalion, 2nd Company, May 7, 1778; Lancaster County, 6th Battalion, 6th Company in 1781; Lancaster County, 6th Battalion, 6th Company May 27, 1782; 4th Company of the 5th Battalion in October of 1784.

Militia Records note he was absent for 12 days and was fined 19 pounds on November 22, 1779. Jane was pregnant with twins Calvin and Cyrus during this period.

Any woman, 18 years of age or older who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership in the DAR. My membership number is 830875. Here is my lineage to Gainer Pierce.
